Remain Meaning

As Emma walked through the old library for the last time, a sense of nostalgia washed over her. It had been years since she had first set foot in the place, but the rows of books and the smell of paper still remained the same. She ran her fingers over the spines of some of the oldest volumes, their worn covers testifying to years of use.
